Enthusiastic teacher: �Helping others is my pleasure.�

Ms Kelly McElrea (a Canadian) has been living in Vietnam for one year and a half years. During this time TOPICA Native has become a part of her life. Ms. Kelly already has a lot of beautiful memories from Vietnam in general and with TOPICA Native in particular. 

When she was in Canada, Kelly held several important positions in different companies and organizations. Among them, one of the most notable positions she had was working as an Experienced Hire Recruiter at Ernst & Young, in Toronto Ontario, Canada. One of her big accomplishments was working as the Project Manager on a major nationwide program hiring new graduates. Thanks to her leadership skills, this program brought in some of the brightest talents across the country.

Kelly made a risky decision in 2014.  She  moved to the other side of the world to make her dream of living and working in another country come true. Through one of her friends living in Vietnam, she knew that it was a country with a good working environment and beautiful landscapes. So she moved to Vietnam in June 2014.

One day Kelly saw an online advertisement about TOPICA Native’s teacher recruitment. With the wish of helping others and bringing better education to Vietnamese, she applied and became a teacher at TOPICA Native. 

Kelly is now one of our most outstanding teachers at TOPICA Native. Kelly not only works as an enthusiastic online teacher but is also very involved in different activities outside of teaching such as placement testing and product development projects. The eagerness to learn of the students is the motivation which keeps her moving forward and contributing more and more. She said: “I really love my students. They are so eager to learn, practice and master speaking English. I strongly believe that what I am doing now is very meaningful, it can help a lot of Vietnamese people particularly and Asian students generally open the door of opportunities in life by mastering such a popular language like English.”

One of Kelly’s favourite hobbies is Rock Climbing. It is through this activity that she created a quote to live her life by. We hope that Kelly can achieve more success and make a bigger impact on our community with  help of her own beautiful quote. Teacher Kelly - it’s a pleasure to have you on our team!
