Home-based teaching - Alternative to school?

(Vietnamnet, 2nd February 2015) According to IBM 50% of their remote workers are more productive than their office-bound counterparts! In the past two decades, the working habits of people have changed dramatically compared to the habits of workers who came before them. Just to mention one of these habits… 3 out of 5 millennials now expect to work remotely.

Following this trend, teachers are now changing their teaching style. Besides offline classes, they often stay at home and instruct students online (E-learning) via different platforms.

The popularity of E-learning cannot be denied. By 2014, EdX alone had at least 2.7 million users; Udacity 1.6 million; Alison 3 million; and Coursera had amassed 10 million users. Now nearly one-third of all students in higher education are taking at least one online course, and 50% of the world’s population now have online access.
